ScripTeast “jumpstarted an entire era in Slovak films”. Interview with Michal Kollar
Producer of Zuzana Liova’s The House talks to Film New Europe about ScripTeast’s role in development of Slovak feature cinematography and how the Kieslowski Award helped find funds to produce The House.
Michal Kollár (Sokol Kollar / Fog’n’Desire Films) produced the film, based on Liova’s ScripTeast participating script. This year, at the Slovak national film wards THE SUN IN A NET, makers of The House took home 6 prizes, including for Best Film and Best Script.
In the interview, Michal talks about the recognition The House gained thanks to the Kieslowski Award, which Zuzana won during the first edition of ScripTeast, in which she participated.

This year Michal is back at ScripTeast with his newest project, Red Captain. Of his experience at the workshops, he said:
“What is wonderful is the fact that the workshop is truly designed in such a way that everybody can take away what he needs. Everything is there: the tutors, the fellow screenwriters. For me personally it was the page-by-page analysis of our genre by somebody who had truly written a successful Hollywood thriller”

Full interview is available at the Film New Europe’s website. Michai’s project, Red Captain, will be represented at this year’s Cannes IFF.
