
“The Japanese Dog” written by Ioan Antoci represents Romania’s nomination for the Academy Awards in 2015 for Foreign Language Film
The film tells the touching story of the reunion between a father and his son, who left the country many years ago.
Ioan Antoci participated in the 3rd edition of ScripTeast and “The Japanise Dog” was developed with help and advice of Michael Tylor (chief of production department at University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, producer of “Phenomenon” with John Travolta and “Instinct” with Anthony Hopkins) and Christian Routh as Head of Studies. The script was awarded with Krzysztof Kieslowski ScripTeast Award for the Best Easter European Script. The prize was presented during Cannes Film Festival in 2009.
The feature film debut of Tudor Cristian Jurgiu was premiered in New Director’s Section of San Sebastian IFF and was distinguished with 1-2 Competition Award at Waraw International Film Festival.
