THE JUDGMENT is a story about Mityo and his son Vasko, who live in a poor area near the Bulgarian-Turkish border. Unemployed and desperate, Mityo accepts to work for his former commander from the time when he served in the military. His job is to smuggle illegal immigrants from Syria through the Bulgarian-Turkish border into the EU. The road passes through a fateful place for Mityo – a cliff called ‘The Judgment’. Mityo has lost everything that mattered to him – his wife, his work, the confidence of his son, Vasko. In order to get him back, Mityo has to find forgiveness and pay for his sin committed 25 years ago.
The everyday headlines about the crisis of the Syrian refugees and their heart-breaking situation shown from a different perspective.
