Roelof Jan Minneboo

He is a historian, rehabilitating teacher, curator, screen-writer, script consultant, script coach and director, trained and based in the Republic of Amsterdam. He is a member of the European Film Academy and the Asia Pacific Screen Academy. He had a short and explosive career as a musician in the first wave of European industrial music and made his debut on the stage with a ten-minute monologue from James Joyce’s Ulysses which he performed with an octo-pus on his head.Roelof Jan (a.k.a. RJ) has written scenarios for/with among others Adilkhan Yerzanov (The Gentle Indif-ference of the World, Un Certain Regard Cannes 2018), George Ovashvili (Corn Island, Crystal Globe Karlovy Vary 2014, January shortlist Academy Awards 2015) and Ilgar Najef (Sugra and her Sons, nominated for the Kim Jiseok Award in Busan this year.) RJ made his debut as a director with the documentary The Myth of Armando in 2018. He is currently coaching both fiction- and documentary filmmakers in former Yugoslavia, China, the Czech Re-public, The UK, Japan and his homecountry the Nether-lands.
